The band seems to be really wailing on this one, but because of the sound recording they seemed to be a bit off in the background.   Annette gives them there due in the second chorus though and they produce some fine instrumental solos with the violin, the trumpet and the clarinet.  This is just a happy love song.  It is quite different right at the start because we are introduced to what sounds like the violinist tuning up his instrument.  And yet he does it quite well and it fits right into the piece. Annette does a lot of ad libbing in this one, humming along to the tune.  She said herself that she liked people that sang the song with a difference and she was definitely different!  Only Bing Crosby would take a tune and become a part of it like Annette, but Bing was a crooner and played that part well but didn't have the range, the versatility that Annette had.  And yet, I still wander what a wonderful duet it would have been to have Annette and Bing sing together.  I wonder if it was prevented by her husband Herman.

Fit As A Fiddle

Hi-diddle the cat and the fiddle
and the cow jumped over the moon
the world is right
my heart is light
I'm like a baby
there is no maybe
I know my fate
I never knew
What love could do
My heart is reeling
the way I'm feeling
is simply great
 fit as a fiddle
and ready for love
I could jump over the moon up above
fit as a fiddle
and ready for love
haven't a worry
haven't a care
feel like a feather that's floating on air
fit as a fiddle
and ready for love
Soon the church bells will be ringing
and I'll march with Ma an Pa
How those church bells will be ringing
with a heh-nanny nanny
and a Ha-cha-cha
Hi-diddle diddle
My babies okay
Ask me a riddle
and what did he say
Fit as a fiddle
and ready for love

(Good violin solo and then
good trumpet
and then good clarinet)

Oh Me, Oh My
I could jump over the moon in the sky
Fit as a fiddle
and ready for love
Don't worry
Don't care
Feel like a feather thats floating on air
fit as a fiddle
and ready for love
In my heart I feel like singing
when I march with Ma and Pa
how those church bells will be ringing
with a hinny-wanny ha-cha-cha
Hi-diddle-diddle
My babies okay
Ask me a riddle
and what did he say
said fit as a fiddle
and I'm already for love
