This song is one of pure joy.  I can't tell where the lyrics are read by Annette or when she starts ad libbing.  There is a lot of ad libbing and if I could I would like to ask her if she just made this one up with the musicians like today what we call "jamming" together.  It's a happy little song.  Annette sings a verse and then lets the clarinet or the trumpet answer her.  And I should expain she likes to use some of what they used to call Pig-latin during this time.  What she means by "wethsits"  is the weather.  Whoits is short for who she is walking with.  And so on.  Again, small ensemble where she talks to the musicians and they "talk" back with their instruments by repeating the chorus that she starts with their instruments.  Nice upbeat song.

Would You Like To Take a Walk

I saw you strolling along solitary
am I nosy
very, very
I'd like to bet a juicy  huckleberry
what your after
is a girl
We're both in luck for  introductions
are not necessary
Ummmm
Would You Like to Take a Walk?
Ummmm
Do You think its gonna rain?
Ummmm
How about a saspiralla?
gee, the moon is yellow
something good will come from that
Ummmm
Have you heard the latest song?
Ummmm
It's a very pretty string
Ummmm
Don't you feel a little thrilling?
Gee, it's getting chilly
something good will come from that
when your strolling through
the wethsits
you need a whosit
to lean upon
but when you have no whoits
to hug a whatits
goss darn

Ummmm
Would you like to take a walk?
Ummmm
Do you think its gonna rain
Ummmm
Ain't you tired of the talkies
I prefer the walkies
something good will come from that
Di-da-di-da-da
Was it dum, da dum

Something is gonna happen soon
Bum-um-da-dum
Bum-um-da-dum
Bum-um-da-dum

Isn't this a pretty tune?

Ummmm
Have heard the song of spring?
Ummmm
You can hear it everywhere
Ummmm
When you see the little roses
turning up their noses
Something good from that
Ummmm
When you see a butterfly
Ummmm
Nodding to a buttercup
Ummmm
When you hear a little cricket
chirping in the thicket
Something good will come from that
